Sri Palanimalai Murugan Temple

Started as a small temple on the hill which was called Rocky Temple. It was called such as the whole hill was full of rocks and there was a Chinese Temple on its peak build in and on natural rocks. Sri Palanimalai Murugan Temple or commonly known as Samyammah Temple was established by Samyammah. Who goes in trance and envisioned a lot of things for her devotees. All her predictions comes true and for the sick people who visits her she gives them viboothi with some herbs and they will get cured even when medical doctors says their sickness can't be cured. She went house to house giving her devottees her blessings and collecting money to build a decent temple for her LORD PALANIMALAI MURUGAN( which in that time was a Vel). With the money she collected and with the help of some devotees she managed to build a small hut for her MURUGAN(vel). All this took place prior to 1954. In 1966 the land which the temple is sitting was gazetted by the State Government of Negeri Sembilan as a Hindu Temple. It was the first temple and i believe the only temple gazetted as a Hindu Temple in Negeri Sembilan as the rest are having titles. In 1966 when the temple was fully build with concrete pillars and slab it was officially opened by His Holiness Swami Chiddanatha Saraswathy. The temple performed all its daily pooja and kumbabishgem as per saivaagama rules. Samyammah past away in 1986 and temple the temple management to her brother and his family as there were no committee to run the day to day affair. 1997 When the brother of Samyammah found it difficult to run the temple due to old age he then gave over the management of the temple to the Negeri Sembilan Hindu Sangam State Council which was headed by Sri Bathumalai. All this while i was a small boy doing everything in the temple form plucking flowers to making garlands, sweeping, washing, doing the nitya poojas etc. Mr. Bathumalai after taking over the management gave me the opportunity to form a management for the committee from the Temiang people. With the Grace of Palanimalai Murugan i invited some trustworthy people whom i have known for some time to be part of the management committee. This people did a very good service by rendering their never ending support to run the temple. I served a the Treasurer of the temple till the day i left to India to study. Before i left i drafted the Temple Registration documents to the Registrar of Societies and submitted. Even when i finished my 5 year studies the registration was not done. I had to go to the Registrar Office in Putrajaya to meet the Pengarah. I fired the pengarah for sitting on my file for 5 years when all the documents were in tact. She assured me in 14 days the temple will be registered and the copy to be sent to Seremban office. As she promised the temple was officially registered under the Registrar of Societies in 10 days. The first AGM was held and since then the Agm reports and accounts are being submitted every year to the department.

Even when the temple was handed over to Hindu Sangam in 1997 temple temple was in bad shape as the temple ceiling was leaking in several places, small landslides and mainly the Moolastanam leaks in every heavy rain. I always dream to build a nice temple for HIM seeing him getting wet in the leak. And when i was small i had the habit a asking Murugan permission ( Poo katthuthal ) to change the Moolavar as the temple had 2 Murugan. Why 2 Murugan? ( i ll tell later) Always the answer was YES. What did i ask? I asked for the back Murugan( he was known as pin Murugan) to be made Moolavar and current Moolavar to be made Aathi Skandar. And not even once he said NO for the change.
